Awards for National Engineers Week, San Diego
The National Engineers Week (NEW)-San Diego County Engineering Council (SDCEC) Planning Committee is seeking nominations for awards:
- Outstanding Engineer Award
- Outstanding Engineer Educator Award
- Outstanding Engineer Project Award
- Dr. Thomas Avolt Kanneman Outstanding Service Award
- SDCEC/Co-sponsored Outstanding Engineering Project Awards
The awards are to be presented at the San Diego National Engineers Week Banquet on Friday, February 26, 2016, 5pm-9:30pm at the venue.
These awards are intended to recognize recent contributions to engineering within San Diego County, and are not intended for life-time contributions but for contributions typically within the past three to five (maximum) years. Prior contributions (over five years) are appropriate for the general background but not the primary basis for the current year award.
Award criteria (and nomination information formats which follow) are described below.
Deadline for all nominations:
The nomination priority deadline for SDCEC awards is January 11, 2016 and for SDCEC/Co-sponsored awards is also the same. Nominations are closed after these dates. Nominations are reviewed and initially selected by the NEW SD Awards Committee with award recommendations submitted to the full NEW SD Planning Committee for adoption. Nominations must be post marked or emailed by above indicated deadlines.
Earlier nominations are encouraged.
The National Engineers Week - San Diego Committee, comprised of representatives of local San Diego County engineering societies, will judge nominations. A special plaque will be presented to award recipients.
Any questions and all nominations must be emailed to sitedesign@sda-pe.com (NEW Awards Chair, Dr. Gerald C. Gerace).
